AFTER THE STORM
One afternoon in the Pacific Northwest, I was nonchalantly painting cirrus clouds. To my surprise, this trio of wayward bumbershoots silently glided in and landed. Not wishing to startle them, I let the rag-tag flock remain in this peaceful pasture. Indeed, their unexpected visitation has inspired a series of paintings to document the migratory instincts of windswept umbrellas.
